Spiritualism is a philosophical belief system centered around the idea that the spirit survives after physical death and can communicate with the living through mediums.

Spiritualists believe that consciousness and identity continue after the death of the physical body. The spirit exists in a different plane of existence often referred to as the “spirit world.”

One of the central tenets of Spiritualism is that spirits of the deceased can and do communicate with the living. This communication typically occurs through individuals known as mediums, who are believed to have the ability to connect with the spirit world.

Mediums are people who claim to have the ability to sense, hear, or see spirits and relay messages from them to the living. Mediumship can take many forms, including clairvoyance (seeing spirits), clairaudience (hearing spirits), and clairsentience (feeling spirits).

Spiritualists often believe that spirits continue to evolve and progress after death, working through different levels or planes of existence. This progression is influenced by their actions and spiritual development during their physical life and in the afterlife.

Spiritualism emphasizes personal responsibility, moral conduct, and the idea that individuals create their own reality through their thoughts, words, and actions. Spiritualists often believe in the law of cause and effect (karma) and the importance of living in harmony with spiritual laws.

Healing is another important aspect of Spiritualism. Spiritual healing is believed to be facilitated by spiritual energies or through the intervention of spirits. Many Spiritualists practice or receive spiritual healing, often as part of their religious services.
